Overview of position:
The purpose of the position is to provide communications advice and support to managers and teams. Communications Advisors drive and support communications priorities, including a focus on delivering high quality client communications.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development of communications plans and strategies
- Writing content for internal and external channels including web, messaging and storytelling that are aligned with the current ‘voice’ and is client centric
- Provide communication support and advice which reflects leading practice in communications to support the strategic direction of this organisation
- Providing advice on development and management of the perceptions of key audiences
- Developing and delivering communication material and advice to support business changes
- Promotion of communication that builds understanding and support for the role that the business groups plays in achieving government outcomes
- In addition, the position may be responsible for some of the following functions: planning and management of specific campaigns, production management of key communication material, writing and editing communication material, management of issues from a communications perspective.
Experience required:
- Professional writing, editing and proofreading skills across a variety of media
- Proven ability to grasp complex concepts quickly and translate into compelling communications
- Experience or the ability to acquire experience in the areas of communications and public relations
- Experience or ability to acquire experience in providing advice to clients and in working with suppliers
- Excellent knowledge of administrative processes, systems and technology with effective organisation, planning and administration skills
- Ability to identify and locate appropriate sources of information for routine situations
