Background in background in bylaw development and implementation, and/or review and rationalisation of organisational processes.
Key tasks will include:
- Auditing the current processes of the AT Traffic Control Committee and the AC Regulatory and Community Safety Committee relating to the administration and implementation of the revoked Traffic Bylaws (AT Traffic Bylaw 2012 and AC Traffic Bylaw 2015), the new Vehicle Use and Parking Bylaw 2025, and other relevant legislation related to traffic and parking controls.
- Assessing the current regulatory (including the bylaw) processes and identifying potential improvements and efficiencies.
- Recommending clear guidelines, processes, and procedures for the appropriate decision-making process under the new Bylaw that would apply to the AT Traffic Control Committee, the AC Regulatory and Community Safety Committee, or any other Committee that would replace them.
- Establishing clear guidelines about consultation and engagement requirements for decisions made under the new Bylaw, using the AC Significance and Engagement Policy and other legislative requirements as a basis.
- Developing new and documenting existing AT Traffic Control Committee decision-making guidelines and principles relating to any decisions made under the new Bylaw.
- Assisting in the rationalisation of strategic transport documents in AT.
- Assisting in the finalisation of the AT Policy Development Framework refresh.
The work can be largely remote, with some requirement to attend on-site meetings in Auckland Transport’s office.
