Accounts Payable Specialist
 

  • $35-40 per hour (dependant on experience)

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join this dynamic finance team.

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial operations by accurately processing and recording invoices, expense reports, and other payables. You will collaborate with various departments, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate payment processing while adhering to company policies and compliance standards. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively will contribute to the success of our finance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and code vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and other payables accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and resolve any discrepancies with vendors or internal stakeholders.
  • Review and reconcile accounts payable transactions to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Prepare and process electronic payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
  • Monitor vendor accounts to ensure timely payments and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable and provide necessary reports to the finance team.
  • Maintain a well-organized filing system for all accounts payable documentation.
  • Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure proper documentation and adherence to procurement policies.
  • Communicate and build positive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the accounts payable function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, best practices, and relevant accounting principles.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and ERP systems; experience with MYOB/Xero/MS Dynamics is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance related to accounts payable.
  • High level of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
