- Lead Test Automation Engineer
Location: Auckland CBD | Hybrid working - Permanent
You’ll be the go-to technical expert, embedding best practices, integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines, and mentoring testers to lift capability across the Agile teams. This role is ideal for someone who loves being close to the tools, has a shift-left mindset, and thrives on building robust, scalable automation frameworks.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and evolve test automation strategies across web, API, integration, and performance testing.
- Embed testing practices within CI/CD pipelines and promote a quality-first culture.
- Mentor and uplift test capability across Agile squads.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to ensure seamless delivery and continuous improvement.
- Advocate for accessibility, usability, and performance as part of every release.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years’ experience working in an Agile environment.
- Proven hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
- Strong TypeScript programming/scripting skills.
- Solid experience in API and integration testing using Postman or SOAPUI.
- Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ideally in Azure DevOps.
- A solid understanding of DevOps principles and shift-left testing practices.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
