Human Resources & Health and Safety Advisor – Contract Role
We’re recruiting for a newly created HR & H&S Advisor role on behalf of a kaupapa-led organisation undergoing an exciting phase of growth.
Contract Duration: 2–3 months
Location: Masterton (Whakaoriori)
Rate: $110–120/hour (contractor)
Start Date: Ideally on board by 3rd October 2025
This short-term contract is designed to provide interim support across HR and Health & Safety functions while the organisation recruits for the permanent position. We welcome applications from candidates who are available for the short-term contract and would also like to be considered for the permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Refresh and implement HR and H&S policies and procedures
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management
- Lead wellbeing initiatives and promote a safety-first culture
- Ensure compliance with employment law and H&S legislation
- Review HR file management and payroll privacy practices
About You:
- Proven experience at Advisor or Senior Advisor level in HR and/or H&S
- Strong knowledge of NZ employment law and H&S regulations
- Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills
