Main Duties and Responsibilities:
•Establish a collaborative partnership with key stakeholders across various projects
•Support the team, and when appropriate lead and direct, on all aspects of the performance management process e.g. developing performance improvement plans (PIP), attending review meetings, ensuring file notes are kept etc. while ensuring the principles of procedural fairness are followed e.g. opportunity to respond, support person etc, making recommendations/coaching managers on appropriate outcomes and keeping all relevant documentation on the employees personnel file.
•Take lead in all ER/IR matters as part of a collaborative team
•Represent business in negotiations with unions and employees in administering collective negotiations (such as on Employment Collective Agreements and other terms and conditions of employment)
•Provide input and advice to business regarding legislative changes.
•Liaise with external legal counsel and advisory boards as well as internal general legal counsel
•Liaise with Head of HR on all high risk or complex cases and matters.
•Conduct education sessions with managers on the process, documentation, their role etc. to build necessary internal capability, providing ongoing coaching and support.
•Provide industrial relations support and guidance to manage and resolve issues; liaising with legal advisors on complex or high-risk matters.
•Support the team to ensure resolution, mediation of day-to-day HR/employee issues.
•Manage interactions and foster relationships with various unions, regulators, subcontractors and client representatives.
•Work with the broader HR team to develop and deliver against key aspects of the functional strategy.
•Contribute or manage the development and updating of HR policies & procedures.
•Drive cyclical HR processes including renumeration & benefits, performance and objective processes and learning
With one direct report, the role will report to the Head of HR based in Australia and work closely with the NZ General Manager.
To be successful for this opportunity you will need to be qualified in Human Resources or related business, law or psychology discipline or equivalent work experience- 8-10 years. You will need to bring a strong knowledge in ER/IR and a highly collaborative approach.
