We are looking for an experienced Product Owner contractor to join one of our leading enterprise clients in Auckland’s CBD.  This is a critical role in a high-impact programme, requiring someone who can bring clarity, focus, and momentum across a complex delivery landscape involving multiple vendors and stakeholders. You will need to have worked with multiple products including Workday, or HRIS or payroll systems for this piece of work.

About the role:
  • Prioritise work to ensure maximum value and outcomes to the organisation
  • Establish and communicate clear product roadmaps aligned to strategic goals
  • Maintain a transparent backlog (Epics, Features, Stories) as the single source of truth
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure alignment and integration into the backlog
  • Engage stakeholders effectively, balancing competing needs with customer and business value
  • Partner closely with Delivery Leads / Project Managers, with a clear understanding of Product Owner vs Scrum Master roles
To be considered you must have:
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Work experience in large, complex organisations
  • Experience working under pressure
  • Strong stakeholder and vendor engagement skills
  • Experience with Workday, HRIS, or Payroll systems
