We are partnering with a nationally significant crown entity, playing a critical role in the safety and wellbeing of Aotearoa. This is a great opportunity to step into a senior payroll advisory role with an experienced team that supports over 14,000 personnel across the country.
 
As Senior Advisor Payroll, you’ll be the go-to for complex payroll queries, ensuring the smooth delivery of fortnightly pay runs and supporting continuous improvement across systems, processes, and compliance. You’ll work closely with a collaborative team and provide mentoring to Payroll Advisors, while also engaging with internal stakeholders and external agencies such as IRD, ACC, and superannuation providers.
 
This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge of NZ payroll legislation (including the Holidays Act), excellent attention to detail, and the ability to interpret employment agreements with confidence. Experience with PS Enterprise (PSe) and exposure to large, complex payroll environments will be advantageous.
 
What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years’ payroll experience in a sizeable and complex payroll environment
• Strong working knowledge of NZ payroll legislation and best practice
• Proven ability to resolve complex payroll issues and support others
• Excellent Excel skills and a systematic, analytical approach
• A team player who brings calm, clarity, and a customer-focused mindset
