This organisation is currently using an industry specific system, they don’t have a specific FMIS. The system has financial modules within it, however they aren’t fully utilising the system and haven’t invested much into it as of yet. They are currently using Excel for their forecasting & budgeting!
What they are looking for is someone who can come in and be more of a consultant initially – talk to the business (Finance, IT, HR, etc) and find out their thoughts about the system and what works/what doesn’t. You will also play around in the system and see how good it is from an FMIS perspective.
You’ll then come back with a proposal of what you believe needs to happen moving forward and then help to make it happen. This could be fully utilising the system and investing in upgrading it/turning on additional modules. However, it could mean going out to market for a new system. Where it goes would be up to your recommendation!
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience with more than one FMIS.
- Experience in project work is essential, even if this is purely helping manage a large system upgrade/implementation.
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A wealth of experience in the systems accounting space, this is not for someone at the beginning of their career.
