Are you a seasoned Data and Integration Engineer looking to make a meaningful impact in a smaller, agile business? We have an exciting opportunity for you to lead the evolution of our client's data and integration landscape.
Role Purpose
In this hands-on role, you will modernize data flows, eliminate manual processes, and enable real-time, reliable reporting across the business. You will design and build scalable data pipelines, optimize SQL Server environments, automate reporting, and integrate operational platforms like LIMS and SAP B1 using best-practice patterns. Beyond delivery, you’ll play a core role in shaping the digital capability of the business long term, including data governance, architecture, and self-service enablement.

- Data Engineering & Optimization: Architect, build, and maintain SQL Server environments, develop ETL/ELT pipelines, implement data warehousing models, and automate processes.
- Integration Engineering & Middleware: Design secure APIs and middleware integrations, deploy and maintain middleware, and establish reusable integration patterns.
- Reporting Automation & Self-Service: Deliver Qlik dashboards, automate data synchronization, and mentor users in self-service reporting.
- Data Governance & Performance Monitoring: Implement data validation frameworks, monitor performance, ensure compliance, and collaborate on secure data exchange.
- Vendor Engagement & Internal Collaboration: Lead vendor relationships, translate requirements into technical solutions, contribute to infrastructure decisions, and mentor team members.

Essential:
- 10+ years in data engineering, SQL Server administration, advanced scripting skills, deep knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines, Qlik BI dashboard development, middleware and API integration. Preferred:
- Experience in smaller businesses, integration with SAP Business One, cloud platforms, containerization, and event-driven architectures.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar.
- Relevant certifications in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, or integration platforms.
- Commitment to continuous learning in data technologies and DevOps practices.
