Release/Cut-Over Manager
Auckland Based - Contract Role
About the role:
The Release/Cut-Over Manager is essential for ensuring a smooth transition to new IT systems, adeptly managing risks and dependencies. Your role is critical in minimizing disruptions, maintaining operational continuity, and leading post-transition support to resolve any issues. You will secure the project's success and the organization's ongoing productivity.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain a detailed cut-over plan based on the project scope and identified dependencies, ensuring all aspects of cut-over are accounted for and documented.
- Prepare and execute run sheets for migration and switch-over activities, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure a smooth transition during cut-over periods.
- Compile and manage all necessary documents and artifacts required for the 'Good-2-Go' approvals, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, technical teams, change management team, and business stakeholders to ensure cut-over activities align with overall project timelines and objectives.
- Monitor and report on the progress of cut-over activities, identifying and mitigating risks, and resolving issues that may impact the cut-over process.
Managing Risk / Health & Safety:
- Ensure legislative and policy compliance and assist in promoting a safe culture.
- Attend all risk / health & safety training required for your role to keep yourself safe.
- Identify causes of loss or risk and take immediate and appropriate action to minimize.
- Proactively identify and report injuries, illnesses, or incidents (including hazards) that may cause harm.
What you’ll bring:
Essential:
- Proven experience in IT project management, specifically in cut-over planning and execution.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
- Knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and software development life cycle (SDLC).
Qualifications:
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering/Technology and/or Business/Commerce is desirable.
