About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our client in Wellington. This role is not super technical but will require strong experience in designing and drafting new or changes to existing processes which align to operational policy and / or legislative requirements. We are looking for someone to hit the ground running and work with a pragmatic mindset focusing on delivering. This is a contract role until June 2026 with likely extension.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, map (current and future state), and implement processes to support BAU operations
- Strategic requirements definition: Ability to identify and define requirements at the right level — focusing on what’s essential to enable solution design.
- Process design expertise: Strong experience in designing and drafting new or changes to existing processes which align to operational policy and/or legislative requirements, taking the processes through review and sign-off.
- Produce clear & accessible documentation: Skilled in documenting business, technical and reporting requirements in a way that is accessible and meaningful to both business users and solution architects, ensuring clarity and alignment across stakeholder groups.
To be successful, you will have:
- Strong stakeholder engagement: Confident in engaging with a range of stakeholders — including business users, system owners, architects, and delivery teams — to validate needs and ensure alignment.
- Experience in large programmes & integrated systems: Prior experience in large-scale programmes involving multiple systems and integration points is essential, particularly where data ownership and architecture are key considerations.
- Agile delivery experience: Skilled in breaking down requirements into user stories and working with build teams to refine and deliver solutions iteratively.
- Excellent communication & documentation skills: Able to produce clear, concise, and high-quality documentation that supports solution design and business sign-off.
